My son attended the pre-school program and accomplished things that my older daughter was just starting to learn in kindergarten in a public school. After such a successful preschool year, my husband and I decided to enroll him in to PWCA for kindergarten. I can not give enough kudos to the teachers and staff for the wonderful things they are teaching children and the awesome foundation they are building for all of the kids that attend this school. My son comes home with homework he has in class and can explain to us exactly how to do the work again. He is learning to put letters and sounds together, he is learning about patterns at which time he also comprehends math! He can add and subtract problems with such ease. I am amazed at all the things he is learning that I have to remind myself sometimes that he is only in kindergarten! I took my son with me to the eye doctor the other day and he was asking mw what the letters b-a-u-c-h spelled because he couldn't quite sound out that long a word and the technician asked him if he was in 2nd grade. He told her he was in kindergarten and was 5! She looked at me as though he was not telling her correctly. I told her he was correct and the difference was that he is enrolled at PWCA. She couldn't believe he knew all of his letters and he was trying to sound out such a difficult word, Bausch and Lomb by the way. Then of course to impress her he told her he could count in Spanish and processed to count. She was so amazed. Thank you for having such a wonderful vision for our children and continuing to offer such an excellent curriculum. We are truly blessed to have our son in your school! Name: Kenneth Garrison Date: 01/28/09 Message: Our 7 year old daughter started at PWCA in the 2nd grade. She attended kindergarten at a public school where she was actually helping her classmates with reading, as there was only one teacher's aid for over 30 students in addition to the teacher. However the principal at the public school suggested she be held back to repeat kindergarten, we choose PWCA instead. Under the care of her beautiful credentialed Christian teacher, our little girl along with EVERY child in her class ranked in the top 15% nationally on the SAT. Her reading comprehension was ranked at the 6th grade level. The school also provided music, Spanish, PE, and computer classes, as well as fabulous field trips to fun and educational places in a reconditioned bus. Our Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Bible-based curriculum is building character and obedience, as well as love for God and His Word, into our children. As parents we could not be more pleased. With limited resources the BEST has been provided to our children. Funds are sacrificially given and carefully administrated. Our school is volunteer-powered as the heart cry of every parent is "Whatever it takes!" We appreciated your prayerful consideration to "invest" on our Academy Kids. We believe an extraordinary work is being done-out of the limelight but in His light-and we are watching in both amazement and gratitude. We are thankful to the Lord for his blessings and to the Friends of the Academy, such as you, who support and encourage us. |
