Project Literacy, Inc. is the 501(c)3 that provides Educator Training, Tutoring and a literacy program based upon text Pure / Complete Phonics. Founder Dr. Robert Nash is a dyslexic himself. His lifetime of dedication to research and methodical approach to ensuring success of every learner is evident in his work, Pure / Complete Phonics. The program goes beyond whole language and a basic phonemic awareness to emphasize frequency of sounds and the end of exceptions or, "words that don't follow the rules."
Manipulatives and easily implemented kits have been added for educator convenience with special attention given to the cognitive abilities and appropriate instructional aides for early education.
Project Literacy brings the Pure / Complete Phonics program to educators everywhere via the Smart Horizons link. Parents, administrators, young students, even adults can learn to read, write, spell and improve comprehension from anywhere in the world.
We encourage you to subscribe to the Virtual University log in and learn. Receive continued support, immediate training, CEUs or even College Credit from this website. You will have access to manipulatives for different styles of learners and even some designed for specific technology such as the Promethean board.
Project Literacy ensures that Pure / Complete Phonics can be easily supplemented to any existing curriculum. Once you are trained in the method of instruction, you will soon see that Pure / Complete Phonics does not require you to make accommodations for students with any learning disabilities or benchmark pupils. You do not need to reinvent the wheel or spend a fortune. This 501c3 was incorporated by educators, not publishers, with the expressed intent to obviate illiteracy. The tool used most frequently is a Dictionary that costs around $12.
